Remote role - Linux Engineer

Summary: The Linux Engineer role is a 100% remote position focused on Linux/AIX administration, requiring expertise in Puppet and Ansible. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Linux environments, automating tasks, and managing small to medium project activities. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders are essential for ensuring business requirements are met. Knowledge of virtualization platforms and infrastructure operations automation is also important for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Very good Linux/AIX Administration Knowledge (RHEL6/7/8).
• Very good Puppet Knowledge.
• Very good Ansible Knowledge.
• Knowledge of UCS Central and Manager will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of HP One view will be added advantage.
• Operating Knowledge of vcenter, UCS central/Manager and HP One view is required.
• Supporting & maintaining Linux RHEL, OVM, Virtualization platform, knowledge on server hardware, SAN & NAS to ensure 24x7 Availability.
• Deploying supporting & troubleshooting issue with RHEL, OVM.
• Maintaining a good understanding of the VMware platform to troubleshoot server issues effectively.
• Administrating RHEL different versions, server patching and upgrade on yum server, satellite (RHN Satellite).
• Automating & administering Redhat Sys Admin tasks using Ansible, puppet and terraform.
• Manage small/medium project work activities & interact with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met.
• Adhere all best practices wrt to latest cyber initiative/improvements.
• Senior level troubleshooting / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for domain related incidents.
• Preparing the customer required relevant report, ppt and presentation skills to customer.
• Root/Boot/grub/Kernel recovery in case of OS corruption/panic/hung etc.
• Provide any relevant certification details.
• Able to perform Incident analysis & generate RCAs.
• Automation scripting tools like Powershell (Windows), Python and/or BaSH (Unix).
• Hands-on experience working on Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems. Must understand infrastructure concepts and should have contributed to infrastructure operations automation.
• Design and implement custom scripts using automation scripting tools like Powershell (Windows), Python and/or BaSH (Unix).
• Understanding of importance of ITIL PROCESSES.
