Role:
The desired person will remain in clinical practice/ case management or have up to date clinical knowledge and experience and be interested in working on a self-employed basis. The main duties of the role will be preparing detailed CPR Part 35 compliant reports for the Court on the care, case management and rehabilitation/ therapy needs of claimants who have sustained injuries due to a personal injury or a medical negligence claim and will also assess the needs of the injured party, taking into account their life pre-injury, the impact it has had on everyday life and their needs going forward.

- Remote working, but you will need to travel to assess claimants in their own homes
- Rates: 60 to 100 depending on experience
Desired skills:
Expert witness experience is desirable however not essential, as we can support you with a bespoke in-house medico-legal training package.
You must have:
- At least 8 years post-qualification professional experience
- Considerable paediatric nursing experience including working with children with brain injury, spinal cord injury and/ or multi trauma/ orthopaedic injuries
- Community based experience (Adult/ Paediatrics, both is preferable) and a good understanding of rehabilitation needs following a catastrophic injury is desirable
- Implementation and management of community care packages/ case management experience is preferable but not absolutely necessary
- Experience in operational management is also advantageous
- Excellent verbal, written and personal presentation skills
- Confidence in your own professional judgement
- Great attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work including reviewing records and preparing lengthy documents
- Excellent IT skills and provision of own equipment/ workspace

As an associate self-employed contractor, this work is compatible with full-time / part-time employment, offering significant flexibility alongside the opportunity to work within areas of special interest. You will be expected to manage your own time effectively and complete assessments/ written materials to a high standard. The client can provide you with the support, training and consultation you will need for an independent role through a fully managed workload and a dedicated administration team.
