Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, assure, and troubleshoot Oracle solutions in collaboration with the Lead Solutions Architect.
  • Work on data warehouse re-platforming and optimisation tasks.
  • Performance tuning of large Oracle RAC based systems.
  • Advise on key defined tasks related to database systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with remote teams and work under tight deadlines.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to be Security Cleared.
  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle (10 years+).
  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, particularly with Oracle 19c.
  • Table analysis and index tuning for large-scale Oracle platforms.
  • Optimisation of PL/SQL and SQL code.
  • Experience with Oracle mTLS/TDE.
  • Oracle client software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with database auditing and security best practices.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under tight timescales.
  • Experience working with COTS products.
  • Previous experience in a government department.
  • Strong understanding of RAC/ASM on OEL, Dataguard, and RMAN.
  • Experience with Oracle secure views and partitioning.

Oracle Solutions Architect

UK, Remote, 6 months Outside IR35, £600-£700pd

Bedigital are partnered with a large central government department on a data warehouse re-platforming and optimisation programme.

This is a role for a seasoned Oracle Solution Architect with a grounding in working with COTS applications, their connectivity to a Back End database etc. Having worked with large scale database systems, preferably from a data warehousing standpoint, you should also be comfortable with performance tuning of large Oracle RAC based systems in a secure environment.

This is a design, assurance and troubleshooting role, working closely with the Lead Solutions Architect and their team of architects to work through and advise on key defined tasks. This is working with on premise technology only with minimal exposure to public cloud technologies. Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and be able to present complex or sensitive information effectively is a must.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Ability to be Security Cleared
  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle (10 years+)
  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, particularly with Oracle 19c, in a complex environment.
  • Table analysis and index tuning, including optimisation of large-scale, high transaction Oracle Platforms
  • Optimisation of PL/SQL and SQL code
  • Oracle mTLS/TDE Experience
  • Oracle client software troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with database auditing and security best practices.
  • Self-starter and ability to work under tight timescales
  • Ability to work within remote disparate teams
