Summary: The Cohesity Resident Engineer role involves supporting a strategic data infrastructure migration initiative by serving as the remote technical authority for transitioning an enterprise Pure Flash storage environment to the Cohesity Data Platform. The engineer will collaborate with client teams to ensure a smooth migration process while minimizing disruptions to production workloads. This position requires extensive experience with Cohesity and Pure Flash storage systems, along with strong communication skills for effective collaboration. The engagement is a high-visibility contract with a significant impact on the client's infrastructure modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end migration planning and execution from Pure Flash storage to Cohesity Data Platform
  • Serve as the primary technical resource and subject matter expert for Cohesity architecture, configuration, and best practices
  • Assess existing Pure Flash environment and design a migration strategy aligned with client objectives and risk tolerance
  • Configure and manage Cohesity clusters, policies, protection groups, and data tiering
  • Collaborate with DBA and application teams to migrate MongoDB, MySQL, and SQL-based workloads with minimal downtime
  • Develop and maintain migration runbooks, validation scripts, and documentation
  • Author and maintain automation scripts to streamline migration tasks and validate data integrity
  • Provide knowledge transfer and technical mentoring to the client’s internal IT staff
  • Coordinate with Pure Storage and Cohesity support teams to resolve technical escalations
  • Deliver regular status reporting to client stakeholders and project management

Key Skills:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Cohesity Data Platform (DataProtect, DataManagement, SmartFiles, or Helios)
  • Demonstrated experience performing Pure Flash storage migrations to an alternate platform (Cohesity strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with MongoDB administration - backup/restore, replication, and migration strategies
  • Proficiency with MySQL administration - schema migrations, replication topology, and data integrity validation
  • Strong SQL scripting skills - ability to write, optimize, and automate queries for migration validation and reporting
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration in enterprise environments
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote engagement with strong communication habits

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cohesity Resident Engineer to support a strategic data infrastructure migration initiative. In this engagement, you will serve as the remote technical authority for migrating an enterprise Pure Flash storage environment to the Cohesity Data Platform.   • Scripting proficiency in Python or Bash for automation and data validation
  • Exposure to enterprise backup/recovery platforms (Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup) for comparative migration context
  • Prior experience in a Resident Engineer or Professional Services capacity
