Summary: We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Architect with a robust background in Linux, Wintel, or VMware environments. The role focuses on designing secure and scalable AWS architectures, driving cloud automation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud security hardening, AWS Control Tower, and EBS encryption. This position is fully remote and requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud architectures for enterprise workloads.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives from on-premises (Linux, Wintel, VMware) to AWS.
- Implement security hardening best practices across AWS services and workloads.
- Deploy and manage AWS Control Tower to establish and govern multi-account AWS environments.
- Enable and enforce EBS volume encryption to protect sensitive data at rest.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CLI.
- Integrate cloud security services such as AWS KMS, IAM, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
- Perform cloud cost optimization and provide recommendations for resource efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with security and governance policies.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to AWS networking, compute, and storage services.
- Document architecture designs, standards, and operational procedures.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, scalable cloud solutions.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with 3+ years in AWS cloud architecture.
- Strong background in Linux, Windows (Wintel), or VMware virtualization environments.
- Expertise in AWS Control Tower, EBS encryption, security hardening, and cloud automation.
- Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001) for cloud compliance.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, VPN).
