Summary: The AS 400 Developer role requires excellent programming skills on the iSeries platform, focusing on RPG, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language. The position involves analyzing and creating new programs, working with EDI platforms, and modifying complex SQL queries. Strong communication skills are essential as the role includes project ownership and collaboration with client analysts. Additional knowledge in various tools and the retail domain is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and create new programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
- Work on EDI platform and various EDI transaction types.
- Analyze and modify complex SQL queries and embedded SQL in SQLRPGLE.
- Create and analyze physical files, logical files, SQL tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
- Develop screen programming including display files, subfiles, and printer files.
- Document business rules and create data mapping documents.
- Analyze and create program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
- Utilize Message Queue (MQ) and embed XML tags in RPG programs.
- Own project tasks based on communication with client analysts.
