We are seeking an Accessibility Tester to support the Colorado Office of Information Technology (OIT). The role ensures all OIT applications comply with accessibility standards and provide an inclusive, user-friendly experience for individuals with disabilities.
Project Goals
The main objectives of this engagement include:
- Identifying accessibility issues in assigned OIT applications
- Ensuring full compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508
- Providing actionable recommendations for remediation
Scope of Work
The Accessibility Tester will perform comprehensive accessibility testing, including:
- Manual testing using assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, keyboard-only navigation)
- Automated testing using approved accessibility tools
- Reviewing UX designs, wireframes, and UI components for accessibility
- Logging defects with detailed reproduction steps and recommended fixes
- Collaborating with QA, Development, UX, Business, and Accessibility teams
- Participating in accessibility meetings, reviews, and training sessions
Deliverables
- Detailed Accessibility Test Plans
- Accessibility Test Reports (issues, severity, recommendations)
- Defect reports in the designated tracking system
- Weekly progress summaries
- Documentation of accessibility best practices and guidelines
