Summary: The role of Quality Coordinator / Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the quality and compliance of vendor-supplied equipment for a large-scale offshore wind energy initiative in Europe. This position involves overseeing inspection activities, aligning with contractors on quality plans, and addressing non-conformities to meet ambitious energy targets. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the energy transition goals of the Netherlands and Germany by ensuring high standards in the manufacturing phase of HVDC grid connection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all client-side inspection activities for vendor-supplied packages.
- Align with EPC contractors on Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) during the manufacturing phase.
- Ensure inspection compliance, perform risk-based assessments, and participate in audits throughout the supply chain.
- Review and assess vendor quality documentation to ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
- Monitor and address non-conformities and track resolutions, especially for critical issues.
- Ensure implementation of employer quality standards concerning welding, coating, material specs, functionality, and safety interlocks.
- Work closely with engineering leads to resolve technical quality issues.
- Coordinate inspection teams and manage quality performance of subcontractors and vendors.
- Conduct regular site visits across Europe and occasionally outside Europe to monitor fabrication progress and quality assurance.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in QA/QC inspection roles within offshore, oil & gas, renewables, or maritime sectors.
- Strong understanding of international quality codes and standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, API, ASME, ASTM, AWS, DNV, EN).
- Proven experience in creating and reviewing QA plans and ITPs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and within teams.
- Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Europe (approx. once a month).
- Relevant certifications are a plus: CSWIP 3.2 (Welding Inspection), NACE CIP Level 2 (Coating Inspection), NDT qualifications, Low voltage (NEN3140) and high voltage (NEN3840) certifications, Experience with HVDC technology.
