You will be working for a well-known organisation based in Birmingham. The requirement is to be on-site 2 3 days a week. This role is outside scope of IR35. The requirement for this role is to have a Government heavy background or public sector background. My clients are looking for an experienced Project Manager who has worked on an income management system previously and/or worked on income and revenue benefits programme previously. This experience is essential for this role.
The role is a 4-month contract with a possible longer-term extension.

The project manager s prime responsibility is to ensure that the project produces the required products within the specified tolerances of time, costs, quality, scope, benefits, and risk. The project manager is also responsible for the project producing a result capable of achieving the benefits defined in the business case.
Key Responsibilities:
Approximately 70% of the role will involve providing direct project Management expertise to several projects and/or programme workstreams. The key responsibilities include:
Ensuring that the core elements of project management are being deployed consistently including project planning, resource management, risk and issue management, dependency management, assumptions, and stage gate exit conditions
Supporting the adoption of best project management practices and methodologies across the Oracle Programme through their implementation, while ensuring consistency and adherence to the governance structures
Designing and producing the plans, including the high-level plan, detailed project plan and stage plans. The role includes facilitation of project planning workshops in conjunction with the workstream team and the wider BCC stakeholders, as appropriate
Seeking agreement with the workstream and lead the implementation of corrective actions, when the plans are at risk of being off track
Prepare exception reports and change control requests
Support workstream delivery teams through mentoring and coaching techniques
Ensuring that an effective risk and issue management and analysis process is deployed
Working with the workstream leads to develop strategies to ensure that the risks and issues are identified and managed before they magnify and are escalated through the governance structures
Ensure that the programme data is being captured accurately and consistently to produce programme reporting
Report on the project status consistently and effectively. Provide feedback on project status and progress (budget, % completion, progress against target/KPIs) for their assigned workstream as well as across the programme. Produce workstream highlight reports in a timely manner, with responsibility for gathering key performance data and status reports from workstream leads and team members
Ensure the PMO promotes a culture of teamwork, collaboration and provides all appropriate support to workstream colleagues in the delivery of this complex programme
Ensure that the key programme documents are produced and maintained to support sustaining the business change and building an enduring organisation
Support the Head of PMO and/or the programme manager in the development of a centre of excellence resource for programme and project management
