Summary: Seeking an experienced Contract Project Manager to lead and deliver multiple multi-discipline engineering projects within a design office environment. This hybrid role is based in Manchester, requiring a strong on-site presence for four days a week. The position involves managing the full project life cycle and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full project life cycle from concept through to commissioning and handover.
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, process, civil/structural).
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and cost controls.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
Key Skills:
- Proven track record managing multi-discipline engineering projects within a design office environment.
- Strong project planning and control skills, including use of project management tools.
- Experience delivering projects in one or more of the following sectors: Brewery/Distilling, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical engineering background.
- Familiarity with process plant environments and associated safety and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with EPCM or consultancy-style project delivery models.
