Summary: The Project Manager role involves overseeing the delivery of large-scale energy transition projects across the UK for a leading renewable energy developer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility-scale renewable generation and be capable of managing third-party contractors throughout all project stages. This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and compliance with safety and quality standards. The role is based in Glasgow and is a full-time office position for a 6-month contract outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of project delivery from mobilisation through to handover, ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, and programme requirements.
- Lead and coordinate EPC, OEM, and ICP contractors on behalf of the asset owner, maintaining control over cost, schedule, and performance.
- Oversee all site-based construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to CDM regulations, NEC contract frameworks, and company procedures.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation measures to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
- Serve as the key interface between contractors, consultants, grid operators, local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage project reporting, scheduling, and cost forecasting, ensuring accuracy and transparency at all times.
- Support tendering, contract negotiation, and contract administration processes throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Lead site inspections, quality assurance, and commissioning activities to ensure zero-defect handover.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all works in line with company and legislative standards.
Key Skills:
- Proven track record delivering infrastructure or renewable energy projects from pre-construction through to commissioning.
- Strong experience managing NEC contracts and third-party contractors.
- Background in client-side or hybrid client/contractor project delivery environments.
- Experience managing DNO or transmission-connected projects and coordinating with local councils and grid operators.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Competent in project budgeting, risk management, and progress reporting.

This role is ideal for a proven Project Manager with a strong background in utility-scale renewable generation, energy storage, or major infrastructure, capable of leading third-party EPCs, OEMs, and ICPs through all stages of project delivery from pre-construction to commercial operation.
