Summary: The Principal Planner role involves managing complex large-scale developments on behalf of a Local Authority for a 6-month contract, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in development management and a strong understanding of planning legislation and local government operations. The position requires the ability to sign off delegated reports and engage with current planning issues in London. Occasional office attendance may be required, but the role primarily allows for remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex large-scale developments and sign off delegated reports.
  • Demonstrate at least 5 years of experience in development management.
  • Understand current issues affecting planning, regeneration, and local government in London.
  • Comprehend central government and development plan policy issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of planning legislation and related local government legislation.
  • Exhibit political awareness and understanding of local government operations.

Key Skills:

  • RTPI accredited postgraduate degree.
  • Eligible for Membership of RTPI or RICS (Planning and Development).
  • Evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Management training (desirable).
  • Proven track record in development management.
