Summary: The Piping Design Lead Engineer is responsible for delivering reliable and cost-effective engineering solutions within the oil and gas industry. This role involves managing discipline activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and optimizing design processes. The engineer will also oversee resource management and interface with various stakeholders to meet project objectives. A strong background in engineering and extensive experience in the industry are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- You are accountable for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the discipline scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
- You are accountable for proactively planning and completing discipline activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget.
- You are responsible for defining and managing the discipline resource needs for your project.
- You ensure that the discipline Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
- You are responsible for capturing lessons learnt, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
- You are responsible for managing discipline interfaces, including third parties where applicable (clients, subcontractors, vendors, classification societies and regulatory bodies).
- You may act as Principal for an assigned scope of work and/or may be designated as a Technical Expert (TE) and/or Engineering Method Authority.
