Summary: The Network Engineer (Fortinet) role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and create design documents for enterprise and mobile services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather business and technical requirements by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Create High-Level and Low-Level Design documents for Enterprise and Mobile Services.
  • Lead software/hardware selection, perform bug scrubs and security assessments, and collaborate with Test & Delivery teams on test plans, defect reviews, MOPs, and change tickets.
  • Contribute to vendor evaluations, RFP requirements, and Proof of Concept testing.
  • Guide feature roadmap for network security elements by working with technology partners on release planning, budgeting, and case preparation.
  • Drive platform enhancements, automation initiatives, and new solutions aligned with DevOps principles and multi-deployment strategies.

Key Skills:

  • Fortinet NSE4 certification with strong hands-on experience on FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiManager.
  • Strong understanding of firewall architecture.
  • Proven ability to design and own HLD and LLD documentation.
  • Solid experience configuring firewall policies, NAT, interfaces, zones, BGP, logging, and address objects.
  • Good routing/switching knowledge; Nokia SROS (7750 preferred) or Cisco (CCNA/CCNP); MPLS knowledge.
  • Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls, F5 LTM/GTM, and Mobile 5G technologies.
  • Understanding of NETCONF-YANG, OpenConfig models, JSON/XML for automation of firewall management.
  • Knowledge of Python and GIT for configuration templates and automation scripting.
