Person specification We Require Flexible And Diligent Staff Ready To Meet The Challenges Ahead. You Will Need To Be Proactive And Ready To Take On The Scope Of Work Covered By The Contract Management Team. The Work Includes Monitoring the performance of the contract, ensuring obligations are met, and challenging non-conformance where appropriate. Carrying out due diligence on requests for change; confirming that these are in accordance with the scope, and terms and conditions, of the relevant contract. Supplier Relationship management. Ensuring regular, open and constructive communication with Contractors. Providing commercial advice and guidance, ensuring all procurement activities represent best value for money and all activity undertaken is in line with HMG procurement policy, applicable regulations, and best practice. Line management responsibilities for members of staff where appropriate, encouraging training and development and ensuring they are given the opportunity to broaden their commercial and broader skills. This role would be ideal for anyone currently working in a commercial environment, building on a skill set involving procurement, stakeholder engagement, contract management or supplier management. Non-commercial experience is also welcome, provided comparable and transferable skills can be demonstrated. You should be a self-starter, who is confident with decision making, an effective communicator and is able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and have the self-drive and determination to deliver effective contract management. You must have the ability to manage competing priorities, assess detailed information, seeking clarity or additional information where necessary, and challenge in a way that represents the best interests of the Department whilst seeking a mutually agreed way forward. Licenced Commercial Officers are responsible for managing commercial activities across the spectrum of Acquisition and, depending on experience and level of competence, can have delegation to sign contracts of up to £2.5 Million for Pay Band C2. You must be willing to work towards attaining CIPS level 4/ or equivalent by commencing study within one year of appointment or be able to provide evidence of previous achievement of CIPS level 4/or equivalent. Individuals are supported to develop and enhance their skills as part of a team of 75 staff. Across all of our roles we expect our team to take proactive steps to raise Commercial Awareness and provide advice / guidance to non-commercial staff on policy, procedures and the law.
