Mechanical Fitter

Summary: The Mechanical Fitter role is a 12-month contract based in Bolton, offering £27 per hour and classified as inside IR35. The position requires an experienced Mechanical Fitter with an apprenticeship in a related field to work with a leading Defence and Aerospace company. Responsibilities include manufacturing and testing tasks, ensuring compliance with certification procedures, and maintaining high workmanship standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure
• Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits
• Possess a versatile skill base applicable across a range of tasks
• Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools, and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle
• Ensure manufacturing build times are met
• Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack
• Maintain high workmanship standards and product quality
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process
• Maintain a safe working environment

Key Skills:

• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21
• Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent certificate
• Experience in manufacturing and testing within the mechanical department
• Ability to work in compliance with product certification procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work under allocated budgets and timescales
