Summary: The Market Data Vendor Manager role at a leading financial services business involves overseeing relationships with third-party market data vendors, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance. This position requires strategic planning and operational management within the global Market Data Procurement team. The role is contract-based for an initial period of six months with potential for extension, and it offers a hybrid working arrangement. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in market data management and vendor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with market data vendors to ensure optimal service delivery and support.
- Managing market data renewals, negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favourable terms, pricing, and service levels.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and accuracy of data provided by vendors, ensuring it meets the organization's standards and requirements.
- Working closely with the inventory management team to oversee the budget for market data services, including forecasting and tracking expenses related to vendor contracts.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging vendors, assessing potential opportunities for new data sources or technologies.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, finance, trading teams) to understand their market data needs and ensure that vendor solutions align with business objectives.
- Issue Resolution: Act as part of the team for resolving any issues or disputes with vendors, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor agreements, performance metrics, and any correspondence, and provide regular reports to management on vendor-related activities.

- Deep understanding of market data commercial terms, data licensing and governance.
- Strong negotiation and analysis skills to deliver the best outcomes on complex enterprise agreements.
- Experienced market data supplier relationship management, governance, compliance, and oversight ideally within commodities sector.
- Experience in using TRG Optimize or Calero MDM.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, including technology and procurement teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of market data trends and industry best practices is advantageous.
