Locum NHS Trust Solicitor

£60-65 umbrella

We are currently recruiting to a locum role with an NHS Trust in the south west region. They are seeking a solicitor to support the Healthcare Legal Team to mitigate risk and achieve cost savings in the following core areas:

Healthcare advice: including consent, capacity, data protection, Mental Health Act and regulatory proceedings, for both adults and children. High Court Applications are managed inhouse.

Disclosure requests: assisting the police and local authority on childcare and criminal proceedings, where the Trust may not be a party to proceedings.

Claims: management of Clinical Negligence and Third Party Claims, in line with NHSR's schemes. Work closely with clinicians and the Divisions to robustly defend claims.

Inquests: support and representation of staff in the Coroner's Court. The Legal team works closely with the local Coroners on a large portfolio of inquests.

This role offers fulltime hours and they'd ideally like someone to start at the beginning of January for an initial period of 3 months.
