Summary: The Life Insurance Business Analyst role focuses on gathering business requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to develop an insurance reference architecture and service catalogue. The position requires expertise in life insurance and core policy administration, emphasizing process documentation and improvement. The analyst will engage in creating detailed documentation and identifying opportunities for operational enhancements within the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather insights and develop an insurance service catalogue, documenting the AS-IS insurance process architecture, process models, and controls.
- Create clear, concise documents detailing process steps and requirements, such as user stories, Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), or functional specifications for core insurance processes, including New Business & Policy Setup, Policy Owned Services, Claims, and Billing & Collection.
- Leverage knowledge of insurance standards, such as ACCORD or IBM Insurance Reference Architecture, to inform work.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and data dictionaries.
- Analyze existing processes to identify gaps, pain points, and areas for enhancement, driving efficiency in insurance operations.
- Provide regular project status updates, clearly communicate requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
Key Skills:
- Solid experience in insurance process engineering and transformation projects.
- Strong grasp of various core insurance processes, including New Business & Policy Setup, Policy Owned Services, Claims, and Billing & Collection.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience with project tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Redmine) and wireframing tools (e.g., Figma).
- Understanding of Insurance Reference Architectures, such as ACCORD.
- Excellent stakeholder management and analytical skills.
- Proficient in both English and Cantonese.
