Summary: The University of Law is seeking qualified Solicitors, Barristers, and experienced law lecturers for permanent Lecturer and Senior Lecturer positions at their Bristol Campus. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching across various law programs and supporting students' learning journeys. Successful candidates will receive professional development support, including enrollment in a PGCHE program. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and support for learning, collaborating with colleagues for continuous improvement.
- Identify and propose developments in module content, structure, and assessment.
- Contribute to the design and review of inclusive learning, maintaining quality standards in curricular and assessment design.
- Communicate complex ideas effectively to students and peers.
- Act as a module lecturer and academic coach, providing pastoral support to students.
Key Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in law or equivalent, or any subject plus law conversion course.
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with legal practice experience and/or previous law lecturer experience.
- Postgraduate qualification and Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) for Senior Lecturer positions.
- Willingness to teach evenings and weekends.
- Significant expertise in teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring, assessments, and team leadership for Senior Lecturers.

We are looking to recruit law lecturers to join our Academic Team at our Bristol Campus as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer on a permanent basis. This role operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends to support our flexible delivery mode.
We are interested in hearing from qualified Solicitors and/or Barristers and also welcome applications from experienced law lecturers.
Reporting into our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including, LLB law degree, academic LLM, vocational LLM, law conversion programmes, Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam and Legal Practice Course to the best possible standard.

As our Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer , you will:
- Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support
- Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
- Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning. Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular and assessment design.
- Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills
- Act as a module lecturer, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey.

Requirements for Lecturer positions:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in law, or undergraduate degree in any subject plus law conversion course.
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with legal practice experience and/or previous experience as a law lecturer
- Willingness to teach evenings and weekends where required
Requirements for Senior Lecturer positions:
- Postgraduate qualification
- Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA)
- PgCHE, PgCE or equivalent
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with legal practice experience and/or previous experience as a law lecturer
- Willingness to teach evenings and weekends where required
For Senior Lecturers you will have developed significant expertise in: Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.
