Summary: In the Lead Commercial role, you will support the Automation team within the Integrated Technologies business unit, focusing on project commercials and financial management. Your responsibilities will include project cost control, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. The position requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment and collaboration with team members on various projects. Proven accounting experience, particularly in the mining industry, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform project cost control activities, including project planning, budget tracking, reviewing commercial contracts and monitoring project activities.
  • Perform the month-end financial statement close (FSC) process for various Automation projects.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and management reporting to stakeholders, including the provision of insightful analytical commentary.
  • Provide support for the preparation of robust quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Oversee project cash forecasting processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy of project accounting in accordance with Group Accounting Policies under IFRS. Raise technical accounting considerations in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of process and system improvements.
  • Perform other finance tasks to support the team and provide back-up support as required.
  • Actively promote a safe working environment.

Key Skills:

  • Proven accounting experience (minimum 3 years PQ) preferably in the mining industry.
  • Solid project accounting experience.
  • Proven finance systems proficiency and understanding.
  • SAP and PIMS experience is preferred. Experience with Power BI and/or Anaplan will be well regarded.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Publish weekly, monthly schedules to stakeholders with explanatory notes and as required reporting.
  • Support overall project controls activities for integrated projects.
  • Certificate, Diploma or Graduate in any technical stream is desirable.
