Summary: The Java Developer role involves joining a global defence technology consultancy to deliver digital transformation for the MoD. The position requires participation in an Agile Scrum team focused on innovative Geospatial software development using cloud-based technologies. The developer will engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices. SC clearance is required or must be obtainable for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality, readable, scalable and easily maintained code, using Java and related technologies, meeting requirements and coding standards.
- Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enhance team velocity.
- Contribute to quality assurance by writing unit and automated tests.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines.
- Ensure code is sufficiently documented and share knowledge of solutions implemented.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups in a true Agile environment, contributing to agile based estimating.
- Work with the scrum team to meet the sprint commitments.

Working Pattern: 3 days a week on site
Clearance: Currently SC Cleared or able to obtain SC Clearance
- You will join a global defence technology consultancy as they deliver digital transformation to the MoD.
- You will join an Agile Scrum team, working on innovative Geospatial software, using the latest cloud-based technologies.
- You will be involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle, from initial design through development, testing, and deployment, delivering robust, scalable cloud-based services.
Responsibilities
