We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to provide comprehensive IT services to a public sector body. The role involves ensuring efficient and effective IT service provision, offering L1 and L2 support to approximately 100 users working in a hybrid pattern (office and remote).
Role Description:
This temporary role is essential for supporting the IT team in managing a hybrid IT estate.
Responsibilities include working with Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Palo Alto Prisma, and Qualys. The role also involves routine maintenance of all IT hardware (on-premise client, server & devices) and software (hybrid).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
IT Estate On-Premise:
Assist with setup, maintenance, and support of all ICT hardware.
Support ICT networks, including Wi-Fi.
Maintain backups and endpoint protection.
Manage server hardware and Active Directory services.
IT Estate Cloud-Based:
Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID.
Manage endpoint devices and security.
Utilise Microsoft Intune and Defender Suite.
Administer Microsoft 365 E5, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, and OneDrive.
IT Support & Customer Service:
Assist with daily IT housekeeping duties.
Manage user workstations, troubleshoot hardware issues, and handle third-party warranty management.
Support desktop application software, operating systems, and licence tracking.
Assist with systems administration, including database and file server management, user account management, and network management.
Provide connectivity support, including VPN and WAN issues.
IT Security:
Collaborate with the IT Manager, IT Security Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer on cybersecurity.
Assist with security monitoring tasks to ensure IT estate protection.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications:
Minimum HNC/Diploma in Computing or equivalent.
Experience:
2 years of experience with Microsoft 365 Administration (certification advantageous).
Experience supporting Microsoft Endpoint device environments.
Experience or certification with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
