Summary: The Interim Financial Accountant role at a leading not-for-profit organization involves preparing statutory accounts and managing large data sets in a complex financial environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the position requires collaboration with various finance teams to ensure accuracy and compliance. The role necessitates on-site work in London for two days a week and is suited for a fully qualified accountant with experience in high-volume data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing statutory accounts and schedules for the central entity and its subsidiaries.
- Manage large data sets, including posting journals with multiple hundreds of lines.
- Support the automated consolidation process using Agresso (Unit4).
- Liaise with treasury and other teams to review and reconcile control accounts, supporting any write-offs.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders within finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience preparing statutory accounts and balance sheets within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong data manipulation skills and confident working with high-volume journals.
- Experience using a large accounting system—Agresso/Unit4 experience highly desirable.
- A background in small or medium-sized practice would be well-suited, offering strong technical grounding; prior experience in the not-for-profit sector is not essential.
- Collaborative and proactive, able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
