Summary: The Integration and System Validation Engineer role involves working on a contract basis for 12 months, focusing on integration and validation within a team that collaborates with various customers and industry partners. The position requires a minimum of three days on-site in Bristol and involves planning trials, analyzing system behavior, and supporting safe and reliable trials. Candidates must possess relevant experience and skills in communication, V&V lifecycle, and fault finding. SC clearance is required to start due to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to plan trials demonstrating integration and gather evidence for qualifying Land Ceptor.
  • Liaise with systems engineering and design teams to acquire adequate trials data and resolve design issues.
  • Analyze and report on system behavior across internal and external interfaces.
  • Deliver trials in various environments, including lab-based integration, System of Systems integration, acceptance, and firing trials.
  • Conduct and support failure investigations.
  • Support safe and reliable trials by developing risk assessments and managing hardware/software assets.

Key Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience communicating with engineering and management stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a large team across multiple sites and departments.
  • Experience with V&V lifecycle, requirement/configuration management, and defect reporting.
  • Knowledge of network systems and protocols, including switch and router configuration.
  • Fault finding and root cause analysis at subsystem integration level.
  • Experience with Wireshark, DOORS, and Engineering Test Management tools is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of network/cable assembly drawings.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles.

Detailed Description From Employer:

Our client has an opportunity for an Integration and System Validation engineer to join them on a contract basis for 12 months with possible extension. You will be joining the Integration and Systems Validation team. The project provides an opportunity with work with a variety of customers and industry partners in the UK and on export contracts.

Role: Integration and System Validation Engineer

Location: Bristol, minimum 3 days onsite

Hours: 37 per week

Clearance: SC required to start, UK Eyes Only due to project

Hourly Rate: Up to £70 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with stakeholders across the project, from within partner companies and from the customer community, to plan trials to demonstrate integration and gather evidence to qualify Land Ceptor into a wider System of Systems environment
  • Liaise with the systems engineering team and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired and to investigate and resolve design issues.
  • Analyse and report on in-depth analysis of the system behaviour across its internal and external interfaces.
  • Deliver trials in a number of environments, including: Lab-based integration and functional rigs; System of Systems integration trials; Acceptance trials; Firing trials;
  • Conduct and support failure investigations.
  • Support safe and reliable trials, including developing and maintaining risk assessments, management of hardware and software assets and control of hardware and software configuration.

Requirements:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience communicating at an appropriate level with a wide and varied range of both engineering and management stakeholders;
  • Experience working within a large team, across multiple sites and with multiple departments;
  • Experience with V&V lifecycle, requirement and configuration management and defect reporting.
  • Network systems and protocols, experience of switch and router configuration and management
  • Fault finding and route cause analysis at subsystem integration level

Experience in these areas would also be beneficial:

  • Wireshark network monitoring tool usage;
  • Network systems and protocols, experience of switch and router configuration and management;
  • DOORS & Engineering Test Management (ETM) requirements tools;
  • Basic understanding of network / cable assembly drawings;
  • Fault finding and route cause analysis at subsystem integration level;
  • Experience in customer facing roles.
