Summary: The Financial Risk Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in the Financial Risk Oversight team, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements while supporting the bank's strategy and data analysis. The position involves leading key processes, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and contributing to regulatory change implementation. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills and familiarity with prudential regulations, alongside effective communication and data management capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Running cross team processes and providing constructive criticism and challenge
  • Identifying ways to support the Bank’s strategy to optimise the use of Capital
  • Supporting effective data analysis and assurance on how data is used to produce regulatory reports
  • Leading the ICAAP and ACS processes through appropriate review and oversight
  • Assisting in the implementation of regulatory change
  • Keeping on top of industry best practice developments and prudential regulatory developments
  • Overseeing key capital processes including targeted oversight reviews
  • Attending and contributing to project and business committees and forums
  • Identifying, building and maintaining relationships between the team and senior business stakeholders
  • Supporting the development and recommendation of appropriate Risk Appetite Statement metrics, limits and triggers
  • Role modelling Virgin Money Values and Behaviours ensuring all tasks are completed to expected standards

Key Skills:

  • Evident strong analytic skills and ability to extract conclusions from quantitative or qualitative evidence
  • Substantial experience with using programming languages such as SAS/SQL/Python/R
  • Demonstrable familiarity of working with and interpreting prudential regulation
  • The ability to deliver a high standard of written and verbal communication
  • Expert experience of analysing large volumes of data
  • Proficiency in managing the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Proven capability in reviewing information and identifying key business impacts
  • A good understanding of the regulatory landscape (e.g. PRA, with an appetite to keep this knowledge up to date)
  • Knowledge of key prudential regulatory document submissions for example, ICAAP and regulatory capital returns
  • Understanding of credit and capital risk management
  • Awareness of the Bank of England’s Annual Cyclical Stress Test

As part of the Financial Risk Oversight team, you’ll play an important role making sure that we identify and implement all the ever-changing regulatory requirements. Our purpose means even greater responsibility to ensure we’re a safe and sound firm in the eyes of our customers, the banking regulators and investors. That’s the ‘assurance’ bit but we’re also on hand to support all areas of the bank to interpret rules correctly and to give ’advice’.

We need you to have
