Summary: The role of Engine Test Technician involves joining a team at a Global Automotive Manufacturing Company in Staffordshire, focusing on the validation and testing of newly developed engines. The position is a 12-month renewable PAYE contract, with an anticipated increase in workload over the next year. Technicians will engage in performance and calibration testing, as well as unsupervised tests in a fully equipped engine test facility. Candidates are expected to have relevant qualifications and experience in engine testing, particularly in gas or diesel programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct performance and calibration testing of newly developed engines.
• Engage in unsupervised tests within the validation area.
• Utilize engine test bed packages for testing instrumentation.
• Fault find and install flow meters and current clamps.
• Collaborate with team members in a hands-on facility role.
• Perform testing of instrumentation including thermocouples and emissions analyzers.
• Participate in the build strip and measurement of key components.

Key Skills:

• Minimum qualifications of City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in an Automotive Mechanical Subject.
• Experience as an Engine Test Technician with 3+ years in gas or diesel programs.
• Familiarity with testing instrumentation and engine test bed packages.
• Ability to fault find and install testing equipment.
• Awareness of genset testing for low voltage electrical systems.
• Time served technicians considered.
