Summary: The Electronics Lab Technician role involves supporting reliability and manufacturing testing of advanced electrical hardware, including ADAS systems and battery management units. The position requires hands-on work with engineering teams to execute test plans, analyze data, and troubleshoot hardware issues. The technician will operate lab equipment and perform electronic rework as part of the testing process. This is a 100% onsite position based in Tustin, CA, for a duration of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate software interfaces and automated test systems to validate hardware during bring-up and development.
  • Use standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, power supplies, etc.) to verify system performance.
  • Set up and calibrate thermal chambers, vibration systems, and other environmental test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and document failures related to DUTs, test fixtures, or harnesses.
  • Perform PCB modifications including component rework and soldering/de-soldering.
  • Build and evaluate first-article units and support initial production test readiness.
  • Review schematics, identify issues, and assist with red-lining documentation.
  • Support deployment and commissioning of new test systems and tooling.

Key Skills:

  • Technical degree in electronics or equivalent hands-on lab/testing experience.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and component datasheets.
  • 5+ years experience with automated test systems or industrial automation equipment.
  • Strong soldering and PCB rework skills.
  • Proficiency with standard electrical lab instruments (multimeters, oscilloscope, crimper, etc.)
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools for fixture builds and hardware setup.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
  • Ability to lift and move test equipment.
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Must pass MVR (motor vehicle record) check.

Electronics Lab Technician

In this role, you will support reliability and manufacturing testing of next-generation electrical hardware, including Level 3+ ADAS systems, telematics, infotainment modules, battery management units, and zonal ECUs. You will work closely with engineering teams to execute test plans, evaluate hardware performance, and help build and validate test systems used across internal labs and external manufacturing sites. This is a hands-on role where you will perform electronic rework, operate lab equipment, analyze data, and troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
