Summary: The role of Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) involves overseeing ecological compliance on-site at Sizewell C in Suffolk, contributing to one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. This ongoing contract position is expected to last until 2026, with immediate start dates available. Candidates will join a growing team and are offered competitive day rates. The position requires specific ecological qualifications and experience to ensure adherence to wildlife legislation and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee ecological compliance on-site at Sizewell C.
  • Ensure adherence to wildlife legislation and project requirements.
  • Conduct ecological surveys and mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to implement ecological best practices.
  • Provide guidance on protected species and their habitats.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to ecological assessments.

Key Skills:

  • First degree in ecology/zoology or a Masters in Ecology or similar.
  • QCIEEM accreditation or applied for.
  • Good understanding of wildlife legislation.
  • CSCS card.
  • 4x4 trained.
  • Two seasons of experience as an ECoW.
  • Preferably ECoW experience on a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP).
  • Consultancy experience in species ecology, surveys, and mitigation.
  • Protected species survey licences or experience as a named ecologist.
  • FISC Level 3 for botanical identification.

Salary (Rate): £500
