Databricks Architect

Summary: The Database Architect will lead the design and implementation of database architecture, focusing on performance, availability, and maintainability. This role involves evaluating and recommending optimal database solutions, mentoring team members, and ensuring robust backup and recovery solutions. The position also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and staying updated on emerging database technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of database architecture, maximizing database performance, availability, and maintainability.
• Evaluate, recommend, and document optimal database solutions for the organization, focusing on high performance, availability, and flexibility.
• Create and maintain documentation of best practices and use cases for all organizational databases.
• Maintain and manage relationships with database software and service vendors.
• Provide hands-on technical assistance and support to both internal and external database users.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies, industry trends, and business needs to inform future technology direction and strategy.
• Mentor and guide DBA team members and technical leads to achieve business and technical objectives.
• Develop and automate processes for routine database maintenance activities across various operating system environments (Windows Server/Unix).
• Ensure robust backup, recovery, and high availability solutions for all supported database systems.
• Troubleshoot and tune database performance issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to improve database efficiency and implement best practices.
• Support and contribute to cloud database technology adoption and integration.
• Use strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to drive database initiatives and efficiency improvements.
