Summary: The role of Onshore Test Lead for the QUBIQ Data Platform involves overseeing the quality assurance process to ensure high-quality, audit-ready data solutions. The position requires strong expertise in data testing, governance leadership, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will lead various testing phases and ensure traceability of requirements and test cases. Additionally, the role emphasizes continuous improvement and effective communication with both onshore and offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own overall QA strategy, test approach, and delivery for the QUBIQ data platform.
- Lead SIT, End-to-End, Regression, and Release Readiness testing across data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
- Define entry and exit criteria, test phases, and quality gates aligned to Agile delivery.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and test evidence in JIRA.
- Oversee data validation activities including source-to-target reconciliation, aggregations, schema validation, and business rule checks.
- Provide clear test direction and guidance to offshore testing resources.
- Chair defect triage meetings and work closely with Data Engineering teams for resolution.
- Produce and present test status, metrics, risks, and go/no-go recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure audit-ready test artefacts and evidence are maintained throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learnt and improving testing practices.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in data analysis, data migration, and ETL/data pipeline testing (mandatory).
- Hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Platform components – Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake.
- Strong SQL skills with ability to review and validate complex data queries.
- Understanding of data governance concepts, metadata management, and lineage.
- Expertise in JIRA for test management, dashboards, and defect tracking.
- Working knowledge of Agile and DevOps delivery models.
- Awareness of automation frameworks for data validation (SQL / PySpark preferred).
- Basic understanding of CI/CD and release management processes.
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Experience in defining and governing testing processes and standards.
- Agile / Scrum testing experience including sprint planning and reviews.
