Summary: This role is for a senior Data Analyst specializing in Python/Pyspark, Snowflake, and SQL, who will join a high-performing Data Science and Analytics team. The position involves designing and delivering end-to-end analytics solutions to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. The candidate will work in a hybrid environment, spending two days a week in the office in Manchester. The contract is initially for six months, with a focus on data-driven decision-making in a global technology business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and prepare large datasets for analytical use across multiple business domains
- Translate business problems into clear, data-driven insights and narratives
- Design and deliver scalable analytics and reporting solutions
- Apply statistical methods and experimentation techniques, including A/B testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering and Data
- Ensure data quality through validation, testing and peer review
- Create visualisations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively
- Identify opportunities to improve analytics approaches and tools
- Support and mentor junior team members, promoting best practice
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience in data analytics within complex environments
- Advanced proficiency in Python/Pyspark, SQL and Snowflake
- Proven experience with end-to-end data lifecycle, from data collection through to reporting
- Strong knowledge of experimentation, A/B testing and statistical analysis
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Background in customer behavioural analytics or event tracking is advantageous
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and prioritisation skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams is highly desirable
- Exposure to AI tools or machine learning concepts is beneficial but not essential
