Information About The Role

Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism. We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission in respect of the Protect strand of the CONTEST Strategy. The aim of Protect is to keep the public safe by strengthening our protection against a terrorist attack in the UK or against our interests overseas, and so reduce our vulnerability.

Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSAs) Are Key Figures In The Delivery Of HM Governments Contest Strategy Under Protect. The CTSAs Are Governed By The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) And Work To Four Key National Priorities

  • Provide counter terrorism security advice on the protection of crowded places.
  • Provide counter terrorism security advice on the protection of hazardous sites and the securing of dangerous substances (i.e. explosives, pre-cursor chemicals, pathogens and toxins, radiological and other toxic chemicals).
  • Support the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) in protecting the Critical National Infrastructure.
  • Advice and Guidance in respect of Personal Security of vulnerable persons.

CTSAs work closely with police forces throughout the country, government departments and local authorities, and other agencies.
