Summary: The Compliance and Governance Lead role is essential for ensuring regulatory compliance and governance standards within a leading financial client. This position requires effective communication between technology teams and business stakeholders, along with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks. The role involves managing contracts, preparing documentation for risk management, and recommending process improvements. The position is based in Sheffield and requires three days of onsite work per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaison between technology teams and business stakeholders, facilitating meetings and workshops across different time zones.
  • Review and interpret relevant laws, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
  • Manage contracts and ensure timely completion within agreed deadlines.
  • Work closely with the central Risk and Controls team to prepare documentation for risk management meetings.
  • Log and monitor departmental risks within RTC and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow local processes across all markets and prepare governance documentation accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the risk management function to align compliance with enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Escalate issues of non-compliance and material risk to appropriate stakeholders promptly.
  • Recommend process improvements to mitigate future risks and enhance governance practices.
