Summary: The role of Community Occupational Therapist at Cambridgeshire County Council involves joining a dynamic team to provide assessments and support aimed at preventing the need for long-term care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment.
  • Undertaking assessments for equipment and social care support needs.
  • Providing expert advice and assessments for equipment and home modifications.
  • Recommending adaptations based on assessments.
  • Providing/recommending specialist services to disabled people to remove barriers to social inclusion.
  • Assessing people's equipment, adaptations, and housing needs.
  • Conducting moving and handling assessments.
  • Maintaining awareness of safeguarding vulnerable people and ensuring dignity and respect in interactions.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Experience with major adaptations.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (can be obtained by the employer).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification.
