Summary: The CNC Miller role involves operating and programming CNC milling and turning machinery to produce component parts for the aerospace interiors sector. The Senior Technician is responsible for setting up machines, conducting self-inspections, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a high-tech machine shop. The position requires a strong background in CNC machining and adherence to quality and safety standards. The role is based in Bedfordshire and offers flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC milling and turning machinery for production runs.
  • Create or edit CNC programs using G & M code instructions.
  • Conduct self-inspection of parts using appropriate inspection equipment.
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on machinery.
  • Report production issues and defects to the Team Lead.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
  • Monitor operational performance and provide feedback to the Team Lead.
  • Maintain quality standards and comply with EH&S guidelines.
  • Ensure a clean and organized working environment.

Key Skills:

  • City and Guilds CNC/NC qualifications or 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Strong background in CNC milling and/or turning machinery.
  • Good understanding of Fanuc control systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of machine tooling and inspection equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality components.
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
  • Strong EH&S awareness in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
