Summary: The Clerk of Works will provide professional advice and project management support for a housing association's asset team, focusing on residential and some commercial properties. The role involves inspecting works, reviewing specifications, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. The position is temporary, lasting approximately three months, and requires immediate availability. Key responsibilities include conducting site inspections, compiling reports, and addressing service complaints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the local Asset team and client with professional advice on property profiles.
- Project manage complex works related to planned and reactive maintenance.
- Review technical and material specifications and advise on contractor proposals.
- Inspect works on site to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Attend site inspections and meetings, providing detailed reports post-visit.
- Obtain testing certificates from contractors and inspect setting out works.
- Conduct snagging and de-snagging inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
- Investigate service complaints and conduct Stock Condition Surveys as directed.
Key Skills:
- Appropriate building qualifications and/or relevant experience.
- Understanding and experience in using contract documents.
- Ability to write detailed technical reports.
- Experience in project management and programming of works.
- Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Immediate availability or short notice readiness.
