Summary: The role of Locum Family Court Adviser at CAFCASS in the Derby region involves providing advanced social work services to children and families within the family justice system. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality assessments and provide analysis to the court on the needs and best interests of children involved in family proceedings.
- Engage directly with children and families to gather their wishes and feelings, ensuring their voices are heard in the court process.
- Collaborate with professionals from various agencies to inform assessments and recommendations.
- Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports to the court, including Section 7 and Rule 16.4 reports.
- Advocate for the child's welfare throughout the court proceedings, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's social work, with a strong background in safeguarding and court work.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, manage caseloads effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written reports.
- Familiarity with CAFCASS policies and procedures is desirable.
