Business Analyst | Energy Trading | Front Office | Physical Commodities | Up to £650/Day Outside IR35 | Hybrid 2 Days | LDN Commodities & Energy Trading House are going through a technology landscape transformation particularly within their Algorithmic Trading function . As such, this Commodities Trading Business Analyst will sit on Front Office trading desk, meaning prior exposure to the end-to-end energy trading lifecycle is highly advantageous. Other physical commodities/asset classes will also be considered for this role. The work will be focussed on expanding the commodities & energy trading house’s current internal/in-house digital algo-trading function and offering, to their external clients/third parties. As such, the role requires you to work with users from across the business and cover functionality across the end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical LNG, Gas and Power , as well as commodity derivatives and FX/IR; strong stakeholder management will be required. Business knowledge around the Trading lifecycle is critical for this role, ideally within Energy. As a Commodities Trading Business Analyst, you will work with both front office and middle office users, with direct desk access on the trading floor, gaining exposure across end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical commodities. As a Commodities Trading Business Analyst, you will be required to perform extensive hands-on work, understanding the Physical Commodities lifecycle and the data needed from both front and middle office, in order to develop extensive system and app knowledge of the different trades. As a Commodities Trading Business Analyst, you will be required to be proactive in engaging with users and working with them in a collaborative and open manner. You must take ownership of creating structured documentation (e.g. backlogs of user stories) and be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals Day rate : Up to £650/Day Outside IR35 Tenure: 6 months rolling (Long Term Engagement) Location of work: Hybrid. 2 days from the office , London Duties of the Commodities Trading Business Analyst: Working with the users to identify their needs Creating worked examples, mock-ups, test cases or similar, to help users understand their requirements and potential solution options Performing hands-on system or data analysis to identify changes (e.g. to usage, to configuration or to class-event) Experience needed for the Commodities Trading Business Analyst role: 4-5 years experience as an IT Business Analyst focussed on Front Office Commodity Trading Commodities Trading experience (preferably including physical LNG, Gas, Power or other Physicals) Extensive experience working with an Front Office Traders/functions Front / middle office knowledge; pricing and valuation (P&L, risk exposure, etc.) If you are interested in this Commodities Trading Business Analyst role.
