Summary: The role of Azure Site Reliability Engineer involves joining a major Financial Services programme in Glasgow, focusing on platform health, reliability, and observability within a large-scale Azure environment. The position requires building and maintaining Azure platform health infrastructure, developing automation solutions, and implementing service level objectives across various layers. Collaboration with engineering and product stakeholders is essential to ensure effective integration and observability. This is an on-site position with an initial contract duration of six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Azure platform health infrastructure using Terraform.
- Develop Python-based automation and integrations.
- Implement SLOs/SLIs across infrastructure and application layers.
- Work with observability tooling and event-driven integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on Azure engineering experience.
- Experience with Terraform in production environments.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and integrations.
- Ability to design SLOs/SLIs across distributed systems.
- Familiarity with observability tooling (e.g., Grafana, alerting).
- Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, Splunk, REST APIs).
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

We're looking for two experienced Azure Site Reliability Engineers to join a major Financial Services programme focused on platform health, reliability, and observability across a large-scale Azure environment.
You'll be responsible for building and maintaining Azure platform health infrastructure using Terraform, developing Python-based automation and integrations, and implementing SLOs/SLIs across infrastructure and application layers. The role also involves working with observability tooling, event-driven integrations, and Azure-native services in a highly collaborative environment with engineering and product stakeholders.
Required experience:
* Strong hands-on Azure engineering experience
* Terraform in production environments (primary IaC tool)
* Python for automation, integrations, or agent development
* Designing SLOs/SLIs across distributed systems
* Observability tooling (eg, Grafana, alerting, synthetic monitoring)
* Event-driven architecture (Kafka, Splunk, REST APIs, webhooks)
* Cloud security best practices (RBAC, encryption, Private Endpoints)
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
