Summary: The role of AWS DevOps Engineer involves working with a consultancy on a 9-month contract, requiring the candidate to travel to the Newcastle office twice a week. The position focuses on writing and maintaining Infrastructure and Configuration as Code in an AWS environment, alongside developing and supporting cloud-based applications on Kubernetes. The ideal candidate should have experience in CI/CD pipelines and agile methodologies, while also providing support to engineers across multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain Infrastructure and Configuration as Code in an AWS cloud environment.
- Develop and support cloud-based applications on a Kubernetes cluster.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and jobs within Gitlab CI.
- Work in a DevOps environment focusing on Continuous Integration & Deployment.
- Support and guide engineers across multi-disciplinary teams in an agile environment.
Key Skills:
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly in Gitlab CI.
- Agile scrum experience.
- Ability to work in a DevOps environment.
