Summary: The Assistant Rota Co-ordinator will support Rota Co-ordinators in delivering effective junior doctor rota management on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Responsibilities include securing bank and agency doctors, managing rostering data, and ensuring compliance with staffing requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Rota Co-ordinators in junior doctor rota management.
  • Secure and book bank and agency doctors at appropriate rates.
  • Provide efficient rostering data administration service.
  • Manage the Rotateam inbox on behalf of the team.
  • Act as authorised signatory for finalising bank shifts on the Roster system.
  • Cross-check rosters for accuracy and process claim forms for Senior Clinicians.
  • Provide cover for Band 5 Rota Co-ordinators in their absence.

Job Overview An exciting opportunity to join the team on a 12 months fixed term contract As an Assistant Rota Co-ordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Rota Co-ordinators to provide a comprehensive, high quality and effective service in the delivery of junior doctor rota co-ordination, ensuring minimum staffing is maintained at all times. You will also be responsible for securing and booking bank and agency doctors at the appropriate rates. Interview date Friday 17/04/26 - Due to scheduling commitments, the interview date must remain as planned and can not be changed.

Main duties of the job The key responsibilities of this role will include carrying out any tasks relating to the resourcing of Medical Staff for designated specialties, ensuring an efficient process is followed to run an effective Medical Service 24/7, and minimise spend on locums whilst ensuring safe staffing.. The post holder will provide an efficient and high-quality rostering data administration service to their designated Rota Co-ordinators, supporting the use and maintenance of systems, data and information and ensuring robust data cleanse processes are carried out regularly. Managing the Rotateam inbox on behalf of the wider team. Act as authorised signatory for finalsing bank shifts on the Roster system, cross checking rosters/Rota’s for accuracy and be responsible for processing claim forms for Senior Clinicians. To provide cover to the Band 5 Rota Co-ordinators ensuring their rota’s / rosters are kept up to date in their absence

Educated to BTEC/NVQ3 or equivalent qualification and / or experience, knowledge of Rostering platforms providing an eRostering Service and Roster building experience is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and work to project timescales is a must.
