Summary: The Area Delivery Manager will oversee a nuclear new build project in East Anglia, focusing on the full life cycle delivery of site delivery sub-programmes. This role involves leading a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the successful execution of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with industry standards. The role is hybrid and inside IR35, with a contract expected to last until December 2025, likely to be extended.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Area Delivery Lead in delivering project scope to cost, schedule, and quality.
- Assist in monitoring delivery against the project programme and recommend improvements.
- Define work scope and manage resources to meet project requirements.
- Provide direction to teams for effective execution of strategies and plans.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
- Drive contract activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Identify risks and facilitate issue resolution while updating the programme and budget.
- Ensure the List of Deliverables is met and apply Continuous Improvement principles.
- Interface with other programmes to adopt best practices.
- Establish effective working relationships with project team members.
Key Skills:
- Experience in delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, preferably in Nuclear Energy.
- Proven success in managing engineering design, contract execution, and multi-discipline EPCM projects.
- Strong project management, financial management, and change management skills.
- Proficient in estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk management tools.
- Experience managing contractors and consultants in large construction projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related fields.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and nuclear quality assurance.
- Experience managing projects through the lifecycle from concept to handover.
