Job Title: Civil Engineer : Box Encapsulation Plant ProjectLocation: Sellafield Site, SeascaleType: Site:Based RoleSalary: GBP43.19 per hour (Umbrella)Contract Length: 12 monthsProject Overview: You will be working on the Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP) project, a critical initiative within the Sellafield Sites 100:year clean:up program. This plant is essential for safely managing nuclear waste by encapsulating it in concrete, ensuring long:term storage in modern facilities. The project focuses on waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo and other legacy waste plants, contributing to the broader decommissioning efforts overseen by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).Role Description: As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the BEP project, ensuring that the construction works are carried out according to the contract specifications, safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical and Site Management: Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring regular checks and compliance with project requirements. Resolve unexpected technical challenges and other issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. Produce procurement schedules and collaborate with the procurement department to ensure resource availability.Planning And Documentation Develop Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Task Briefings. Prepare 2:week lookahead schedules in collaboration with the Project Team. Maintain Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets to document daily progress and resource allocation.Health, Safety And Environment Foster a culture of safety and compliance on:site, adhering to company procedures and legal obligations. Ensure all work is conducted in a manner that promotes environmental responsibility. Lead by example in delivering works safely and to the agreed deadline.Quality Control Promote best practices and ensure all work is delivered defect:free. Identify and implement value engineering opportunities where possible. Uphold company quality procedures throughout the project.EssentialQualifications and Experience: Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects. Solid understanding of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations. Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members. BPSS security clearance, with the ability to obtain a P4 pass.Desirable Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Experience with temporary works coordination. Valid CSCS card. Training in cable avoidance, first aid, and confined spaces. NEBOSH or IOSH certification.Why Join Us?
